Dr. Sikandar Singh accused the BJP of promoting division in Punjab through its reservation promise, saying such politics goes against the Sikh Gurus' teachings of equality and unity.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government has rejected the case for the permanent release of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar. This development was confirmed by Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, head of 'Panj-Aab Lawyers', who provides legal counsel for Sikh political prisoners, commonly referred to as 'Bandi Singhs'.
The issue of Sikh Political Prisoners (Bandi Singhs) has long been a core concern of the Sikh community. Many of these individuals are serving life sentences, and their release largely depends on the political will of the Indian government, particularly the Centre.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which once rose to popularity in Punjab by amplifying local issues and promoting pro-people discourse, now finds itself increasingly cornered—much like traditional political parties—as it faces public anger over its controversial Land Pooling Policy.
