New Delhi, India (January 17, 2014): The Delhi High Court on Jan. 16 refused to stay the CBI probe against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a November 1984 Sikh carnage related case and declined to entertain his plea for an early hearing of his appeal against the trial court's order for investigation.
New Delhi, India (December 3, 2013): The Delhi high court on December 02, 2013 sought responses from the Centre and Delhi government on a plea filed by families of 1984 anti-Sikh violence victims seeking compensation for the death of their kin. A bench of justices P. K. Bhasin and V. P. Vaish issued notice to Centre and Delhi government for December 12.
New Delhi, India (October 12, 2013): The political scuffle between Manjit Singh GK (Current head of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee) and Paramjit Singh Sarna (former head of DSGMC) has started taking dangerous turn. As per information Paramjit Singh Sarna has filed a petition in an Indian court and it is believed that such a petition pretends challenge the authority of the Jathedar of Akal Takht. The petition was taken up by the Delhi High Court on October 08 and the matter was adjourned for October 23.
New Delhi, India (September 19, 2013): As per information on September 18, 2013 the Delhi High Court referred to Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a direction to provide protection to the witnesses in November 1984 Sikh massacre related cases involving Indian politician and Congress leader Sajjan Kumar.
New Delhi, India (August 29, 2013): It is learnt the Delhi high court on August 27, 2013 admitted CBI’s appeal against acquittal of Indian politician Sajjan Kumar in a November 1984 Sikh massacre case relating to killing of five Sikhs by a mob in New Delhi. As per information a bench of justices G. S. Sistani and G. P Mittal also asked Sajjan Kumar to appear before the registrar general of the high court to furnish bail bonds on 2 September, 2013 in the case.
New Delhi, India (July 13, 2013): It is learnt that, on July 12, 2013, the Supreme Court of India refused to entertain a petition of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler requesting stay on order of a lower court to re-investigate his alleged role in a November 1984 Sikh massacre related case.
New Delhi, India (July 09, 2013): It is learnt that on July 08, 2013 the Delhi high court sought the response of CBI and the two persons, who were sentenced to three years in jail Delhi Cantonment Area massacre 1984 case, on the plea of victims' families challenging the trial court verdict acquitting Congress leader Sajjan Kumar.
Delhi, India (July 06, 2013): It is learnt that the victims-cum-survivors of the Delhi Cantonment Area Massacre have challenged the acquittal of Congress Party leader Sajjan Kumar in a November 1984 massacre related case in the Delhi High Court.
New Delhi, India (July 04, 2013): It is learnt that on July 03, 2013 the Delhi High Court denied to issue stay order against a Delhi's lower court's order directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to reopen investigation against Congress party leader Jagdish Tytler in a November 1984 Sikh massacre related case. But the High Court has reportedly issued notice to CBI and the complainant to file on a plea moved by Jagdish Tytler against the orders of lower court.
New Delhi, India (June 13, 2013): As per media reports on June 12, 2013 the Delhi High Court declined to grant stay on the construction of a memorial at Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib complex in Delhi as New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) told the court that legal action will be taken soon if the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) continue with the project.
New Delhi, India (May 31, 2013): It is learnt that A Judge of Delhi High Court on May 31, 2013 rescued himself from hearing a plea of Indian politician and Congress leader Jagdish Tytler challenging a lower court order by which the CBI was asked to further investigate his role in a case related to November 1984 violence against the Sikhs. This case relates to the brutal killings of three innocent Sikhs.
New Delhi, India (May 25, 2013): It is learnt that the Delhi High Court on May 24, 2013 reserved its verdict on Indian politician Sajjan Kumar's plea challenging a trial court's order to frame charges against him in Sultanpuri Massacre case 1984. Sultanpuri Massacre was part of wider plan of Sikh genocide 1984, and the case against Sajjan Kumar relates to the killing of six people in Sultanpuri area in Delhi.
New Delhi, India (May 13, 2013): It is learnt that the Delhi High was scheduled to hear 34 petitions regarding 1984 Sikh massacre on May 14,2 013. These petitions challenge the conviction of 104 people accused of their involvement in killings of Sikhs in November, 1984. All these were convicted by Sessions Courts.
