Amritsar, Punjab (June 02, 2013): It is learnt that Hindu organization Shiv Sena (Rashtarvadi) took out a march on May 31, 2013 in Amritsar to show their protest against the June 1984 memorial for Sikh martyrs. In June 1984 Indian army had attacked Sri Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states.
Amritsar, Punjab (May 15, 2013): The Dal Khalsa has submitted a memorandum requesting Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh to resolve the memorial row keeping collective will of the community and historical traditions in mind in the meeting of the high priests.
New York, United States (May 07, 2013): In a written statement the Sikh Youth of America has urged Badal Dal and SGPC to restrain for removing the name of Sikh martyr Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from the Gurdwara Yaadgaar Shaheedan - or the Saka June 1984 memorial.
London, United Kingdom (May 07, 2013): According to information shared by Bhai Dabinderjit Singh of Sikh Federation UK, a meeting of various UK Sikh bodies and Gurudwara Committees was held on May 05, 2013 to discuss the issue of opposition to the naming of Saka June 1984 memorial after the name of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other martyrs of June 1984.
Amritsar, Punjab (May 06, 2013): The Sant Samaj, led by Damdami Taksal (Chowk Mehta) chief Baba Harman Singh, organized a march from headquarters of Damdami Taksal to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and submitted a memorandum to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.

Amritsar, Punjab (April 29, 2013): Justifying the martyr’s memorial build in Darbar Sahib Complex after the name of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale and other martyrs of 1984 army assault code named Operation Blue Star, the Dal Khalsa said Baba Harnam Singh implemented the resolution of the SGPC adopted on May 3, 2012.
Amritsar, Punjab (April 27, 2013): In brief but historic ceremony held at Sri Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) Complex, the Martyr's memorial for Saka June 1984 was inaugurated. This ceremony was attended by various Sikh political, social and religious leaders besides the Sikh sangat in large numbers.
