The members of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) reportedly protested against ‘Shakha’ activity of Hindutva outfit Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) yesterday (on July 01) at Fatehgarh Sahib.
Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) candidate S. Surjit Singh Kalaboola yesterday filed his nomination papers for Dhuri constituency by-polls. Surjit Singh Kalaboola, who is also a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), was accompanied by party president Simranjeet Singh Mann, Dhian Singh Mand and other party leaders while filing his nomination papers.
Nagpur/Maharashtra (Oct. 03): As per media reports tensions prevailed in Nagpur after a mob besieged Sikh Gurdwara in Panchsheel Nagar of Nagpur in Maharashtra. As per a news reported by The Tribune Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) Jaswant Singh Mann said that a Sikh Gurdwara Sahib was besieged at Panchsheel Nagar (Nagpur) in Maharashtra. He said the Gurdwara was surrounded after two groups clashed over a trivial issue. He said the authorities had imposed a curfew in the area.
Karnal, Haryana (Oct. 04): Shiromani Akal Dal Amritsar (Mann) leaders and supporters showed black flags to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Karnal rally on Saturday. The police arrested five top leaders of Simranjit Singh Mann’s party following the protests while they were released on bail in the evening.

Terming the movie “Punjab 1984” as government sponsored to confuse Sikhs about armed Sikh struggle, UK branch of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (SAD-A) has called for boycott of the movie. “Armed Sikhs are shown killing Hindus by pulling out of buses and they are also shown drinking alcohol”, the UK branch of Simranjit Singh Mann’s party posted on its facebook wall.
The president of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has constituted five members’ committee to probe the clash between SGPC task force and Mann supporters occurred during the observation of Ghallughara June 1984 on June 6 at Akal Takhat.
New York, United States (June 11, 2014): It is learnt that six Sikh organizations have submitted a complaint to United Nations' human rights body seeking a tribunal to investigate crimes committed by the Indian government during June 1984 army attack on Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras. They have also urged the UN to condemn the army attack.
