A Ludhiana resident has moved to Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking ban on the screening of “Nanak Shah Fakir” film. The petition moved through Advocate Ranjan Lakhanpal says Sikh religion forbids showing Guru Nanak in “living form”. This petition is likely to come up for hearing during the vacations starting next Monday.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has supported the SGPC’s demand for a ban on the movie “Nanak Shah Fakir” stating that it should not be released. He also objected to Harinder Sikka, producer of Nanak Shah Fakir film, using his name for the promotion of the controversial movie.
