Dal Khalsa has urged the Punjab and Haryana High Court to set up a “judicial commission” to probe a large cache of illegal weapons still lying with select serving policemen and the use of unlawful brigade known as “cats” by the security forces in the name of fighting militancy in the state.
As per media reports the Central Government of India recently decided to withdraw the alleged "gallantry award" given to a former cat-turned-cop Gurmeet Pinky.
Ludhiana resident Amrik Singh has written an open letter to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, seeking justice. Amrik Singh is father of Avtar Singh Gola, who was shot by police cat turned cop Gurmeet Pinky in 2001.
