The US Justice Department has unsealed indictment charging an employee of Indian Government and a former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) official Vikas Yadav for attempting to get a US citizen Sikh activist assassinated in US.
An Indian citizen is accused of spying on Sikh and Kashmiri communities in Germany for New Delhi's secret services went on trial in Frankfurt on Tuesday. The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Balvir Singh, is accused of working for the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's foreign intelligence agency, from at least January 2015.
In a written release issued on Friday (April 17), the World Sikh Organization of Canada said that it was deeply disturbed by a report revealing that Indian intelligence agencies “attempted to use money and disinformation to “covertly influence” Canadian politicians”.
The Ontario Gurdwaras Committee (OGC) and British Columbia Gurudwaras Council (BCGC) is deeply disturbed by reports alleging that Indian intelligence agencies coordinated efforts to influence Canadian elected officials and are attempting to undermine the core of Canadian society.
