Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today moved a resolution on SYL Canal declared that the Punjab government won't accept forcible construction of Satluj Yamuna Link Canal.
The Supreme Court [yesterday] rejected the Punjab Government’s objection to Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, who hails from Haryana, being part of a five-member Constitution Bench hearing the Presidential reference on the validity of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act 2004.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (July 15, 2014): Punjab's ruling party Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today slammed the Haryana Government for adopting an assembly resolution asking Government of India to immediately intervene to secure the construction of controversial Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
Haryana has once again raised the demand of completion of controversial canal project called “Satluj Yamuna Link” (SYL). While describing the SYL Canal as the "lifeline" for the state, the Haryana Assembly yesterday (on July 14) decided to send an all-party delegation, led by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, to meet Indian Prime Minister. The delegation would seek direction of Indian Prime Minister to take up construction of the SYL canal at the earliest.
