Sikh Referendum 2020

Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh has reacted sharply over the launch of an Android App titled "2020 Sikh Referendum".
The government of India on Wednesday (July 9) announced to ban Sikh diaspora activists group called Sikhs For Justice (SFJ).
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Priya Sood pronounced verdict in a case registered by Punjab police against alleged activist of Referendum 2020. The case was registered against Bikramjeet Singh, Hardeep Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Kuldeep Singh under FIR number 93/2016 police station Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur district.
It is learnt that the Amritsar police re-arrested eight Sikh activists who were due to be released from the Amritsar Central jail.
The Punjab Police today announced arrest of two persons who were allegedly imprinting Referendum 2020 marks on walls in Amritsar. Like previous arrests in similar cases this time too the police has made huge claims of "thwarting a major campaign to disturb communal peace and harmony in the state".
The Indian authorities having failed to pressure the UK authorities to deny permission for the London Declaration Referendum 2020 event organised by Sikhs For Justice tried to get pro-India groups to stage a counter-protest.

In a statement issued today, the Sikh Federation UK said that London's administration has denied permissions to pro-India rally in London.
Ontario Gurdwaras Committee (OGC) issued a statement today (copy available with Sikh Siyasat News) reiterate its support for the cause of the sovereignty of Sikhs and Punjab.
