A court of Metropolitan Magistrate of Delhi today convicted Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (DSGMC) President Majit Singh GK and eight others for holding protests against acquittal of Sikh genocide accused Sajjan Kumar earlier this years.

Massive Rally in Delhi condemns state terrorism of 1984; Marks 30 years of Sikh Genocide 1984

New Delhi, India (Nov. 01): On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Sikh genocide of 1984, a massive rally and public meeting took place in Delhi on November 01, 2014. The rally was organized by Lok Raj Sangathan along with several other organisations. Hundreds of people marched from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar demanding that the guilty of 1984 must be punished and calling on the people to unite to end state terrorism.

ECI issues show cause to BJP govt. for announcing enhanced compensation to Sikh victims of 1984 genocide

Hindu person files PIL in Delhi High Court against helmet exemption to Sikh women

New Delhi, India (Oct. 03): A Hindu person, Amit Bhagat, has moved to Delhi High Court seeking revocation of Delhi Government's notification to exempt Sikh women from wearing helmets while driving or riding pollion on two-wheelers in Delhi. The Delhi High Court has reportedly issued notice of the Delhi government on Amit Bhagat's “Public Interest Litigation” (PIL).

New Delhi, India: Sikh political prisoner Daya Singh Lahoria was reportedly admitted to Din Dyal Hospital on Thursday (Oct. 03) after his health condition deteriorated to serious point. Bibi Kamaljit Kaur, wife of Daya Singh Lahoria accused jail authorities for negligence that led to further deterioration in health condition of her husband.

Sikh attacked with acid in Delhi; Hairs cut forcibly, auto-rickshaw burnt

New Delhi: A Sikh was yesterday admitted to trauma section of Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi after an acid by three persons. Ranjit Singh, 60, an auto-rickshaw driver was beaten up by three persons, reportedly of Hindu community, over some issue. The attackers also cut his hairs and attacked him with acid.

DSGMC hopeful about clearance to build Sikh Genocide 1984 memorial in G: Rakabganj Sahib complex

New Delhi, India (September 04, 2014): Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has expressed hope that it would be granted go ahead to construct a memorial for the victims of the Sikh Genocide 1984. Now Helmets necessary for Women riders in Delhi; Sikh women riders exempted

New Delhi, India (August 29, 2014): Wearing helmets for women riding pillion on a two-wheeler is now mandatory in the Delhi, Capital city of India, though Sikh women have been exempted, with the Government amending the rule 115 of Delhi Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993.

Pulbangash Gurdwara massacre: Court acquits man; Investigations against Jagdish Tytler still pending

New Delhi, India (August 22, 2014): According to information a Delhi based Indian court acquitted another accused in a November 1984 Delhi Sikh massacre related case in which a Hindu mob had set afire a Sikh Gurdwara leading to the death of three people. The could held that the CBI has a "very, very weak case" as it has failed to prove accused's presence on the spot of crime. Investigation against senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler is still pending in this case.

Sikh pogrom 1984: Delhi HC agrees to hear appeal of 3 convicts; (Sajjan Kumar was acquitted in this case)

As per inforamtion the Delhi High Court, on July 01, agreed to hear the appeal of one of the three persons who were awarded life term in a case related to November 1984 massacre of the SIkhs for murdering five members of a Sikh family during the pogrom.

Sikh women pillion riders exempted from wearing helmets

It is learnt that Sikh women pillion riders will be exempted from wearing helmets in the New Delhi, the capital city of India. According to media reports a notification in this regard is likely to be issued this week. The decision comes after the Sikhs strongly objected to the Transport department’s move of making helmets mandatory for all women pillion riders.

Delhi prepares to make helmet compulsory for women; Sikh body raises objections
