The organizers of Bandi Singhs Rihai Morcha (Lakhnaur Sahib, Ambala) informed that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has completed 19th day of his hunger strike and he will continue with his indefinite hunger strike till seven Sikh political prisoners, who release is being demanded by the morcha, are permanently released.
Punjabi singer turned politician and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader K. S. Makhan has extended support to ‘morcha’ seeking permanent release of those Sikh political prisoners who have completed the terms of their sentences.

Chandigarh: Sikh political prisoner Bhai Gurmit Singh was reportedly released yesterday from Chandigarh Model Jail (Burail) on 28 days parole. Bhai Gurmit Singh came out of jail at. around 7:45 pm. He was received outside the jail by his mother Mata Surjit Kaur, sisters Manjit Kaur and Varinder Kaur, Sikh leader Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, Kumikar Singh, Bibi Kulbir Kaur Dhami (Guru Asra Trust), Gurcharan Singh and Surjit Singh.
Duo were booked under FIR No.84 (dated: 29 June, 2009) under sections 120-B,121,121A, 123, 153, 153A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 10, 11 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and under sections 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act, 1908 at police station Raikot, District Ludhiana.
Bhai Lakhwinder Singh, who is serving imprisonment for life in CM Beant Singh assassination case has been released on parole of 28 days from the Burail Jail. He was released on parole on October 30 for the second time after his arrest.

New Delhi, India: Sikh political prisoner Daya Singh Lahoria was reportedly admitted to Din Dyal Hospital on Thursday (Oct. 03) after his health condition deteriorated to serious point. Bibi Kamaljit Kaur, wife of Daya Singh Lahoria accused jail authorities for negligence that led to further deterioration in health condition of her husband.
Chandigarh: Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has renewed his pledge to secure the release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their prison terms. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa reportedly submitted a memorandums to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Governor Shivraj Patil on Wednesday (Oct. 01) seeking their intervention in the matter. Though this memorandum he urged the Governor and the CM to issue release orders of seven Sikh prisoners.
Amritsar, Punjab (August 18, 2014): Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who observed a 42-day fast seeking release of Sikh prisoners languishing in various jails last year, reached completed his foot journey and reached Akal Takht on August 17, where they submitted a memorandum at Akal Takht secretariat in absence of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.
Barnala, Punjab (August 16, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Jasvir Singh Jassa of Manki village of Barnala, who was picked up by the police on August 13, 2014 has been lodged in Malerkotla jail.
According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), one Harwinder Singh of Phagwara was arrested by Punjab police on 14 August, 2014 from his Phagwara based residence. He was produced before Duty Magistrate Hoshiarpur on 15 Aug 2014 and sent to judicial Custody till 28 Aug. 2014.
According to information released by Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur on August 11, a Pataila court has acquitted 4 Sikhs namely Harminder Singh, Manjinder Singh, Gurjant Singh and Jaswinder Singh in a fabricated case.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 05, 2014): According to information published by Sikh Organization of Prisoners' Welfare (SOPW) on it's website on August 01, 2015, a Chandigarh court of Magistrate Jasvinder Singh sentenced Narain Singh Chaura to 2 years in prison, in a case which realted to alleged possession of illegal arms by Narain Singh Chaura in Sector 51 Chandigarh.
It is learnt that the Delhi High Court today issued a direction to the Tihar Jail authorities regarding medical treatment of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who has been serving life imprisonment in Punjab CM Beant Singh's assassination case.
