Sikhs across Europe visit Wolverhampton for 10,000-strong conference

Birmingham, United Kingdom (September 23, 2013): Accotding to a news reported by BBC "[m]ore than 10,000 Sikhs have gathered in Wolverhampton to mark the 10th anniversary of the Sikh Federation". The group was set up a decade ago to "give Sikhs a stronger political voice", said Amrik Singh, chair of the federation.

As per information a 204 years old copy of the 'Treaty of Amritsar' was sold on August 21, 2013 for over four times its estimate at an auction of rare historical documents.

Sangat TV fined 30K Pounds for talk-show guest’s comment regarding attack on Kuldip Brar

London, UK (August 17, 2013): As per recent media reports (the British media regulatory authority called "Ofcom" has fined a UK-based Sikh television channel, Sangat TV, £30,000 over a comment passed by one of the guests participating in a discussion over the issue of attack on Indian Army's former officer Kuldip Brar. The show was aired in October 2012 when Kuldip Brar was assulted by some Sikhs in London.

UK reassure Sikh delegation to take up Prof. Bhullar death penalty case with India

Hugo Swire, Britain's minister for India in the foreign office, reportedly met Sikh representatives with Lord Indarjit Singh of Wimbledon and discussed the case of Prof. Bhullar who is facing death penalty in India in a highly contested and controversial conviction.

Three Sikhs convicted by London court over Kuldip Brar’s stabbing

UK Sikh girl’s missing organs reportedly traced in lab near Chandigarh

Chandigarh/ Punjab (June 25, 2013): Various media reports have disclosed that the organs of Birmingham-born Gurkiren Kaur Loyal are with the Forensic Chemical Examination Laboratory at Kharar, near Chandigarh. It is learnt that the local councillor Narinder Kaur Kooner has received an email saying the organs are in the laboratory.

Vigil held at Birmingham for 8-yrs-old Sikh girl killed in India during vacations trip

Birmingham/ London (June 22, 2013): A memorial service was held in Birmingham on June 22, 2013 for a British Sikh girl named Gurkiren Kaur Loyal who died in a clinic in India in April 2013.
