Police planning to frame Bhai Tara a UAPA case, already acquitted against Bhai Barapind

As per reports the Punjab police belonging to Goraya police station is planning to frame Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara in a UAPA case. The case was registered by Goraya police against the then Akali Dal Panch Pardhani president and SGPC member Bhai Kulvir Singh Barapind in 2012.

Sikh leader Bhai Kulvir Singh Barapind acquitted by Jalandhar court; Release expected today

Jalandhar, Punjab (Sept. 29): A local court here today acquitted Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP) president Bhai Kulvir Singh Barapind in a two years old case. Bhai Kulvir Singh, who is also a member of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) from Phillaur constituency was brought to Jalandhar from Nabha Jail to hear the decision. Additional District and Sessions Judge Mandip Singh Dhillon acquitted Bhai Kulvir Singh from all charges leveled against by the Punjab police.

Balbir Singh Bira sentenced for life by Ludhaina court; His wife acquitted of all charges

Ludhiana, Punjab (August 29, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), a Ludhiana court today pronounced decision in a 2009 murder case against Balbir Singh alias Bira and his wife Sukhjinder Kaur, acquitting Sukhjinder Kaur but convicting Balbir Singh Bira for murder charges.

Punjab: 8 Sikhs Acquitted in UAPA case by Mohali Court

Mohali, Panjab (March 30, 2014): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) 8 Sikhs were acquitted on Wednesday the 26th of March, by Dilbagh Singh Johal, the Additional Sessions Judge of the Mohali District Court. The charges were related to unlawful activities, illegal possession of explosives and firearms.
