Jalandhar, Punjab (April 06, 2014): To commemorate the Khalsa Sajna Divas, the Dal Khalsa has resolved to observe April 13 as Sikh Nationalism Day by holding a youth conference on the concept of Sikh Nationhood.

Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh informed the media that the conference would be organized by its youth wing ‘Sikh Youth of Punjab’ in Jalandhar on April 13. He said homage would be paid to 13 martyrs who laid down their lives protesting against pseudo Gurudom in Amritsar on April 13, 1978.

He said speakers would emphasize on character building of youth and imbibing Sikhi spirit in them. They would dwell upon the unique aspects of culture, social and language that make up for the distinct identity of the Sikhs, said he.

As elections are round the corner, he said, the speakers would expose those forces that were doing politics on Sikh pain. He felt that the politicians took the electorate for ride. He alleged that all political parties san ideological agenda.

He reiterated that both Congress and BJP were the two sides of the same coin whose policies and perception towards minorities were same.

He said that Congress was implementing the RSS agenda wearing the mask of Gandhism and this party was directly or indirectly involved in all major attacks against Sikhs (may it be June, Nov 1984 or post-84 killings) which happened in India right from 1978.

While deliberating upon the support of Akali Dal to BJP, he said that Badals are an ugly stain on the image of Sikhs as they had mortgaged their faith and loyalty with the Hindutva party for political benefits. He said crocodile tears by AAP for a deeply wounded community would not cut any ice with it.
