USA: Their is proverb “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Despite of the weather conditions “United Sikhs” Volunteers showed up to serve food in “Community Meal program” started by Lee Memorial Church in Norwich.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa one of the founder member of Connecticut Chapter of United Sikhs organized a program to feed community at Lee Memorial Church.
This was first time Sikh Community served Meal to community outside Gurudwara.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa said “I am glad that everyone enjoyed the Punjabi food and Almost similar number of people showed up like they show during nice weather conditions”.
While address the congregation he educated people about who Sikhs are and Made people aware that Sikhism is independent religion and not branch of any other religion. He also distributed brochures to people who came for food.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa also Specially thanked Kuljit Singh from Mainsfield, Manny Singh from Norwich,Lucky Singh and Gagan Singh from Storrs for Preparing the Meal.
He also said “I would also like to congrats Jacob Juncker for providing this platform to people of Norwich so they can get together, enjoy food & also get to know each other better.”
Volunteers from Norwich Salvation Army and City officials also came to help in serving meal.
United Sikhs is Human Rights organization which concentrate on area like Civil rights, Equal work opportunities, and community outreach is one of the important work that they do so fellow Americans can get to know more about Sikhs of America.
