Caversham, Australia:: A webinar marking the International Mother Language Day (February 21) will take place at Caversham Primary School, focusing on the historical significance of the Gurmukhi script and its role during Sikh Raj and British Colonialism.
The event will be led by Dr. Sikander Singh from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
The session will highlight the practice and reliance on Gurmukhi in governance, education, and daily life during the Sikh Empire and under British rule.
Organized under the Gurmukhee Vidyala Initiative, the webinar aims to deepen understanding of indigenous education systems and the impact of colonial policies on Panjabi language and Gurmukhi.
