Sacramento, USA (September 09, 2012): A US based coalition of minorities of Indian origin asked Governor Jerry Brown on Thursday to cancel his planned appearance at a Sacramento rally intended to honor the victims of the Wisconsin Sikh Temple shooting. The group insists rally organizer North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) and the Indian state are using the September 8 rally, which features India’s Consul General N. Parthasarthi, to sanitize the reality of India’s ongoing human rights abuses.

Chandigarh (September 6, 2012): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) demanded that PM Manmohan Singh should ensure support of UPA to the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2012 to amend the notorious Article 25 of the constitution, which is coming up before the Parliament. The private bill proposed by Dr. Ratan Singh Ajnala, MP, seeks to drop Explanation II in Article 25, which defines Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism as components of the Hindu religion.

The has reached at the stage of final argument and defence arguments are currently in progress. It is notable that genocide is a specific crime in India and Sajjan Kumar is charged under ordinary penal code.
