New Jersey, USA (October 07, 2013): It is learnt from various media reports that the New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has formally nominated a Sikh lawyer Gurbir Singh Grewal to be the next Bergen county prosecutor. According to inforamtion, if confirmed by the State Senate, Grewal would become the first prosecutor Sikh to occupy that office.

New Delhi, India (October 08, 2013): It is learnt that senior advocate H.S Phoolka has written a letter to Delhi commissioner of police to provide security cover to all witnesses, including Joginder Singh, Sheela Kaur and Popro Kaur, in a November 1984 Sikh massacre realted case against Sajjan Kumar.

Hyderabad, India (October 07, 2013): It is learnt that the Hyderabad Sikhs protested against the attack on a Sikh Gurudwara Sahib in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh and sacrilege of the sacred Sikh scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji besides attack on Sikh Sewadars by anti-social elements. Sikhs reportedly staged a protest demonstration at Gurudwara Sahib Ameerpet in Hyderabad on Sunday (October 06).

Jharkhand, Bihar (October 07, 2013): In a statement the Bihar Unit of All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has strongly condemned the attack on Gurdwara Sahib during the ongoing agitation at Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh and demanded action against the culprits. The miscreants had caused damage to the Sikh Gurdwara Sahib and burnt the Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on Saturday (October 05, 2013).
