Fayetteville, USA (October 12, 2013): According to a periodical news-letter by the Sikh Coalition: “Simran Preet Singh Lamba, the third turbaned Sikh to be accepted by the U.S. Army in over 30 years (despite the discriminatory ban against Sikh articles of faith in the U.S military) recently earned a promotion to Corporal in the U.S. Army”.

New Delhi, India (October 12, 2013): The political scuffle between Manjit Singh GK (Current head of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee) and Paramjit Singh Sarna (former head of DSGMC) has started taking dangerous turn. As per information Paramjit Singh Sarna has filed a petition in an Indian court and it is believed that such a petition pretends challenge the authority of the Jathedar of Akal Takht. The petition was taken up by the Delhi High Court on October 08 and the matter was adjourned for October 23.
Bhuj, Gujrat (October 12, 2013): It is learnt that the Kutch police has arrested 12 villagers in relation to an attack on a family of Sikh farmers in Bhuj area of Gujrat. “The incident has irked Sikh farmers who are already protesting the state government's decision to freeze their land accounts on the grounds that they are migrants” the Indian Express (IE) writes.
