Amritsar, Punjab (November 7, 2013): According to information released by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) secretary Dalmegh Singh a Sikh jatha will leave for Pakistan on November 15 to mark the Parkash Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Ji at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. In a press release, a copy of which is available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), SGPC secretary Dalmegh Singh has said the jatha would be led by SGPC member Randhir Singh Cheema.

Amritsar (November 6, 2013): Former Punjab director general of police KPS Gill who has been largely considered responsible for committing mass level atrocities on the civilian Sikh population of Punjab has now started commenting on the Sikh issues. Recently he reportedly told media that the Martyrs’ memorial in the memory of the martyrs of June 1984 was “just another excuse to generate funds”.
Amritsar, Punjab (November 6, 2013): It is learnt that various Sikh groups have demanded construction of a memorial for Shaheed Beant Singh, Shaheed Satwant Singh and Shaheed Kehar Singh. Bhai Beant Singh and Satwant Singh had killed Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984 – Indira Gandhi was responsible for ordering attack on Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras in June 1984. Bhai Beant Singh was had attained martyrdom while assasinating Gandhi whereas Bhai Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh were sentenced to death by Indian courts.
