Amb Sahib, Mohli (December 24, 2013): Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who is on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali) for last 41 days seeking release of 6 Sikh political prisoners languishing in Indian jails despite having completed the terms of their sentences, has been directed by Akal Takht Jathedar to end his hunger strike.
Amrisar, Punjab (December 24, 2013): It is learnt that Giani Gurbachan Singh (Jathedar, Akal Takht), Giani Mal Singh (Jathedar, Takht Kesgarh Sahib), Giani Jagtar Singh (Head Granthi, Sachkhand Darbar Sahib), Giani Maan Singh (Granthi, Sachkhand Darbar Sahib) and Giani Ravel Singh (Granthi, Sachkand Darbar Sahib) have issued an edict (Adesh) to Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to end his fast unto death.
Chicago, IL: (December 24, 2013): The US Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed the Petition for “Panel Rehearing” filed by “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal. The December 23 order of Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the decision that SFJ did not effectuate service of the Federal Court summons on CM Badal.
Chandigarh/ Amb Sahib (December 24, 2013): Even though the government circles were claiming to have completed the process of parole for Gurmeet Singh, Shamsher Singh and Lakhwinder Singh two days back; trio still remains confined in Chandigarh Model Jail, Burrail.
Amritsar, Punjab (December 25, 2013): Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh in a sharp reaction said Akal Takht Jathedar's decision ordering Bhai Gurbakash Singh to end fast, was too late and contrary to Sikh feelings and aspirations. Commenting on edict, he said 41 days have passed and Jathedar''s position remained confused and self-contradictory.

Chandigarh (December 24, 2013): A 2 minute 59 seconds title song promo of upcoming Punjab movie “Kaum De Heere” was released on YouTube channel soundboomtv. The song - “Kaum De Heere” which coincide the title of the movie, is sung by Sukshinder Shinda. The song is written by Raj Kakra whereas Sukhshinder Shinda has given the music.
Ilford (December 24, 2013): According to Ilford Recorder (IR): [f]ive Ilford Sikhs spent five days on hunger strike outside the Indian High Commission in solidarity with a man in India who has fasted since November 14.
