Chandigarh/ Punjab (March 07, 2014): It is learnt that India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has banned Punjabi movie '47 to 84 – Ek Peed'. The movie is said to be based on sufferings of people who witnessed partition of 1947 and mass massacre of 1984.
New York, United States (March 07, 2014): A US based NGO, United Sikhs, has extended its STARAE scholarship project, in September 2013, to needy students from families who are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Peshawar. After three months 75% of the 39 STARAE scholars have shown an improvement in their studies and 90 percent have achieved ‘A’ grades in their term test.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (March 07, 2014): Punjab politicians belonging to ruling Badal-BJP combine and the opposition Congress party came close to exchanging blows in Punjab assembly on the tragic events of 1984 with no issues spared: declassified UK documents, induction of former-militants in party fold and respect for a 'Sikh Prime Minister'.
