New Delhi, India (May 20, 2014): India's opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started putting together a new government by formally choosing Narendra Modi as the leader of the parliamentary party following a resounding victory in national elections.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (May 20, 2014): As per media reports the Majha Ex-Servicemen Human Rights Front led by Colonel GS Sandhu (retd.) has asked former Director Gengerl of Police (Prison) Shashi Kant to name all politicians, civil and police officials involved in illegal drug trade. During his tenure, Shashi Kant reportedly prepared a long list of such people involved in drug trafficking.

Amritsar, Punjab (May 20, 2014): As per information a trial court of Amritsar has acquitted three persons accused of killing notorious police cat and dummy Nihang chief Ajit Poohla for lack of evidence. The decision in this regard was pronounced by District Sessions court (Amritsar) on May 20, 2014.

Bathinda, Punjab (May 20, 2014): Close defeat of Manpreet Badal, joint candidate of Congress and People's Party of Punjab from Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency has triggered a blame game between Congress and PPP leaders. Manpreet Badal lost Bathinda seat to Badal Dal's candidate Harsimrat Badal by a mere 19,395 votes.
