As Sikhs all over the world mark 30 years since the notoriously bloody Indian Army attack in June 1984 on the holiest Sikh shrine (Sri Harimandar Sahib, often called the Golden Temple) in Amritsar, leading Sikh organisations have asked David Cameron to repay the debt owed by Britain to the Sikh nation. They want him to press the new Indian Government to respect the right of self-determination and other human rights, or face stern international sanctions.
As per information availed from various media reports the Indian government led by Narendra Modi is reading a new "anti-Naxalite" strategy. Under this strategy the bureaucrats and security personnel operating in Naxalite/ Maoist-hit areas may get special monetary benefits, out-of-turn promotions and choice posting after the completion of their tenure in these "dangerous" places.

The news of coming forward by AAP convener to stop infighting has brought a sigh of relief for its supporters in Punjab.
