The congress leaders posing as common voters have challenged the election of all six MPs of Punjab ruling alliance, elected in the recent Lok Sabha polls, in Punjab and Haryana high court. Their disqualification has been sought on the grounds of issuing election advertisements on television channels seeking votes in the name of religion and not declaring the exact amount spent on advertisements.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) announced a welfare scheme for Sikligar and Wanjara Sikhs. The Delhi Committee has announced to open schools to provide education to the children of economically weak and socially backward families.
As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Punjabi lyricist-cum-singer Raj Kakra’s début Punjabi movie “Kaum De Heere” will be released across India on August 22. The movie was banned by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India on February 28, 2014. But now the ban has been lifted.
