According to certain media reports, a US Federal court has denied permissions requested by a Human Rights and advocacy group – Sikhs for Justice, to file an amended complaint against India's Congress party president Sonia Gandhi in connection with a Sikh genocide 1984 related law suit.
The Haryana state assembly today passed bill for the formation of separate Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Haryana. The bill, titled “Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Management Bill 2014” was passed amidst walkout by opposition parties including INLD and BJP.
According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Haryana state assembly today began debate on a bill aimed at forming separate Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (HSGPC).
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy CM son Sukhbir Singh Badal may be hoping that the Bhartiya Janta Party led NDA government at the Centre, to which Badal Dal is also an ally, may block the formation of a separate gurdwara body in Haryana, but state officials claim that it's governor may give his assent to pass the bill.
