Sufferings of Civilians increase along side LoC as India and Pakistan intensify gunfire

India/ Pakistan: Accusing each other for committing ceasefire violations, India and Pakistan have intensified exchange of fires along side Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. Domestic media of India and Pakistan is reporting the developments more or less in 'official versions' whereas International media reports reveal that civilians on both sides of LoC are suffering in terms of causalities, injuries and displacements.

Police turns Gurdwara Jandalisar into fortress after Baba Daduwal gets bail

Bathinda, Punjab: Security outside the Gurdwara Jandalisar Sahib near Kot Shamir village has been intensified following the grant of bail to Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal. Baba Daduwal was granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday (Oct. 07). His release is expected today.

Tensions surface in Muzaffarnagar; 14 sustained injuries in group clashes

Kashmir: 9 civilians killed in India-Pakistan LoC firing

Srinagar, Kashmir: India and Pakistan have accused each other of unprovoked firing along the disputed border in Kashmir in which at least nine civilians were killed. Five civilians died after Pakistani troops fired shells into Indian-administered Kashmir, India said. Pakistan said four civilians in Pakistan-administered Kashmir had been killed in firing by Indian troops. A ceasefire agreed in 2003 remains in place, but the neighbours often accuse each other of violating it. In August India cancelled talks with Pakistan after accusing it of interfering in its internal affairs.

For last two days the Nagpur was tense after a minor altercation between two groups of youth belonging to Budhist and Sikligar Sikh communities had turned serious. Leaders and representatives of these minority communities held a series of meetings to pacify the tensions. They jointly held a peace march in Nagpur covering almost all areas that had witnessed incidents of violence.
