Illinois, USA: Local media reports say US federal, state and local authorities are trying to determine what caused an overnight fire at a Sikh house of worship in Island Lake.

The movie was eventually banned in India as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had denied it clearance certificate that was required for public screening of the movie in India.
Washington, USA: A Sikh student at Hofstra University filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the United States Army, claiming the service refused to grant him a religious accommodation that would allow him to enlist in his school’s ROTC program without shaving his beard, cutting his hair and removing his turban, according to court documents.
Ambala, Haryana: Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa of Haryana started his indefinite hunger strike today (14 November). Chandigarh: Sikh political prisoner Bhai Gurmit Singh was reportedly released yesterday from Chandigarh Model Jail (Burail) on 28 days parole. Bhai Gurmit Singh came out of jail at. around 7:45 pm. He was received outside the jail by his mother Mata Surjit Kaur, sisters Manjit Kaur and Varinder Kaur, Sikh leader Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, Kumikar Singh, Bibi Kulbir Kaur Dhami (Guru Asra Trust), Gurcharan Singh and Surjit Singh.
