Sikh bodies to hold Ghallughara (Sikh Genocide) remembrance march in Amritsar on 3 June

Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale (SYFB) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) have announced to hold ‘Ghallughara Remembrance March’ on June 3 in Amritsar. SYFB president Bhai Gurjinder Singh told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the march will commence from Gurudwara Sri Santokhsar Sahib on June 3 at 5pm.

Ludhiana police reportedly fail to present charge-sheet against Er. Mawinder Singh Giaspura in a case related to “recover” of T-shirts with Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s photo imprints. Police had booked Giaspura in this case on the complaint of a Shiv Sena leader Bajeet Jassian.

Ludhiana resident Amrik Singh has written an open letter to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, seeking justice. Amrik Singh is father of Avtar Singh Gola, who was shot by police cat turned cop Gurmeet Pinky in 2001. Pinky was sentenced to imprisonment for life in this case in 2006, but he was prematurely released by Punjab government in May 2014.

Bir Devinder Singh, Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly, has sought a CBI inquiry into the controversy surrounding bid to reinstatement police “black cat” turned cop Gurmeet Pinky. Gurmeet Pinky, a murder convict, was reinstated to Punjab police earlier this month but controversial order reinstating Pinky were later withdrawn.
