Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (PSGPC) on April 1 elected S. Taru Singh as caretaker president.
Last night, the U.S. Army granted a Sikh American officer a long-term religious accommodation allowing him to continue serving his country while maintaining his articles of faith. The landmark decision makes Captain Simratpal Singh, a decorated combat veteran, the first active duty Sikh soldier to receive approval to maintain his articles of faith while actively serving in the U.S. Army.
On Friday (April 1) a special CBI court held 47 policemen guilty of killing 10 Sikh men in three fake encounters in a single night in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh.
