Atrocities on the Dalits are on the rise in the Indian sub-continent. In a heinous incident of caste motivated hate crimes, the skin of the head of a Dalit leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party was peeled off allegedly by some villagers in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, police said Tuesday (Sept. 12).

Addressing a Samvad on Social media, Parmjeet Singh (Editor, Sikh Siyasat News) critically analysed some perceptions about the social media.
Recently there were reports in media that the Punjab police chief DGP Suresh Arora approached the Central government urging it to adopt ‘sympathetic’ view towards Punjab police personnel who are facing trails for grave human rights abuses committed by them during the days of Sikh struggle in Punjab (1980s-90s).
