“National Register of Citizens (NRC) bogey being raised despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s categorical statement that NRC is not on anvil,” Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was quoted as saying by a news agency.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Tuesday staged a walk-out of the House while raising slogans and demanding immediate removal of DGP Dinkar Gupta and Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
Political leaders in India who are fuelling hatred and creating a violent environment by making hate speeches must be immediately held accountable, said Amnesty International India today.

As per media reports a head constable and a civilian were killed and several paramilitary and Delhi Police personnel, including a DCP, injured as violence spiralled over the amended citizenship law again in northeast Delhi, turning it into a battlefield on Monday (February 24) with frenzied protesters torching houses, shops, vehicles and a petrol pump, and hurling stones.
