The Supreme Court of India (SCI) today refused to grant interim bail to Indian politician Sajjan Kumar. Former Parliamentarian Sajjan Kumar was convicted in a case related to November 1984 Sikh Genocide.
We condemn the brutal crackdown on dissent and protest which has accompanied India’s Covid-19 lockdown. The Modi government has launched a witch-hunt of students and activists and is charging them under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
It is rare happening in the past four decades when Punjab ministers forced a defiant Chief Secretary representing ‘real governance’ to be removed from office.
The Akal Takht Sahib has dismissed a complaint against recitation of Zafarnamah by Dr. Satinder Sartaj. The complaint was filed by SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee member Ajayab Singh Abhiyasi and Sarchand Singh, a former leader of Sikh Students Federation (Mehta).
