Windsor’s Sikh community is applauding the Canadian government’s move to call out India on "credible allegations" that the "agents of the government of India" were involved in the killing of prominent Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in B.C. in June, but want to see more action.
In response to the fast-moving diplomatic events around the killing of a leading Khalistani activist in Canada by Indian agents, the World Sikh Parliament has called this a watershed moment which needs an effective response from the international community.
In a collective statement, members of the Panth Sewak collective said that revelations by the Canadian Prime Minister regarding India's role in the murder of Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar further demonstrate the ongoing use of extrajudicial killings by the Indian state.
The World Sikh Organization of Canada urges Sikhs to remain vigilant and alert during upcoming protests following the statement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that credible evidence exists to substantiate the involvement of agents of the Government of India in the targeted killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
