Rayya/Beas, Punjab (October 25, 2012): According to media reports representatives of Sikh organizations and Dera Radha Swami administrators are deliberating to find an acceptable solution to the issue of demolition of Gurudwara Sahib of Village Waraich.
Sikh Siyasat News’ sources have also confirmed that the talks were being held between panthic bodies and Dera Radha Swami Beas but no further details were available at this stage.
According to certain media reports Baba Baljeet Singh Daduwal (Panthic Sewa Lehar) and Bhai Dhian Singh Mand (Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar/Mann Dal) have met Dera Radha Swami head Gurinder Singh Dhillon.
Media reports have claimed that an agreement has been finalized but the details are not made public by any of the parties. Media reports have suggested that the details may be made public in coming days.
It is notable that Dera Radha Swami had faced the public wrath since the demolition of a Gurudwara Sahib situated in village Waraich located on the suburbs of Dera Radha Swami Beas. Dera had reportedly been acquiring the adjoining lands, by means possible, to ensure expansion of dera.
It is notable that Dera head has close ties with ruling regime of Punjab led by Badal Dal that controls Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), therefore SGPC and Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had issued a clean chit to dera in this case. But various Sikh bodies including Mann Dal, Panthic Sewa Lehar, Khalsa Action Committee, Dal Khasla, Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, Shiromani Akali Dal (Sutantar) and Damdami Taksal Ajnala had refused to accept the clean chit allegedly issued under political pressure.
Public response to the concerned developments are yet to be watched.
