BRAMPTON— The World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) has announced the upcoming launch of its national Anti-Sikh Hate Report, scheduled for this Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Brampton. A copy of the written release detailing the event and its significance is currently available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN).

The highly anticipated report marks “the culmination of one of the most comprehensive examinations of anti-Sikh discrimination in Canada to date.” Funded by the Canada Race Relations Foundation, the document is built upon “over 1,700 survey responses and insights gathered from hundreds of participants at townhalls across the country.”
According to the statement issued by the WSO, the publication aims to provide a clear, detailed account of the ongoing challenges faced by Sikh Canadians, while actively outlining a “path forward to confront hate and strengthen inclusion.” The report formally establishes a definition of Anti-Sikh Hate, highlights specific real-world examples from across Canada, and presents data that reveals the “shocking impact of anti-Sikh hate on the community.”
The Brampton launch serves as the inaugural gathering in a planned series of nationwide events designed to bring together community leaders, policymakers, and subject-matter experts to discuss the findings and determine actionable next steps.
The event will feature prominent community advocates as guest speakers, including Senator Baltej Singh Dhillon, noted for his historic advocacy as the “first turbaned Sikh to serve in the RCMP.” Joining him is Gurbaj Singh Multani, whose “landmark Supreme Court of Canada case affirmed the right of Sikhs to wear the kirpan in Canada,” alongside Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Bal, a recognized expert on student experiences and the specific impacts of anti-Sikh discrimination on youth.
The launch will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brampton City Hall, located at 2 Wellington St. W. Organizers have noted that media availability for interviews with spokespersons and featured speakers is scheduled for prior to 6:30 PM and after 8:00 PM.
