Talwandi Sabo, Punjab (August 25, 2014): Punjabi singer, Balkar Sidhu, who was first declared Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Talwandi Sabo but contested the byelection for assembly seat as independent candidate after his ticket was withdrawn by AAP leadership, ended up at fourth place with 6,305 votes.
Polling of Talwandi Sabo assembly seat was held on August 21 and results were declared on Agust 25.
The seat was won by former MLA Jeet Mohinder Sidhu. He was candidate of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal Badal. Jeet Mohinder Sidhu secured 71,747 votes. He beated Congress candidate Harminder Jassi with a margin of 46,642 votes, who was able to secure 25,105 votes.
Aam Aadmi Party candidate Prof. Baljinder Kaur secured 13,899 votes and lasted at third place.
