Amritsar: It is learnt that the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has withdrawn Shiromani Litterateur award from journalist Kuldip Nayar. Kuldip Nayar’s writings were found to be carrying mis-intended misinformation about Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, other Sikh Shaheeds and the Sikh struggle of 1980s-90s.

The Damdami Taksal (Mehta faction) had been raising the concerns in this regard with the SGPC.Relevant portion of a press release (in Gurmukhi/Panjabi) issued by the SGPC today reads:
