Gujarat Elections: With 63% Turnout, Voting For Second Phase Ends At 5PM, Exit Poll Statistics Favors BJP In Gujarat

Ahmadabad: The polling for the 93 constituencies in the second phase of the Gujarat state assembly election with around 63 % of voter turnout ended at 5 PM in the evening. The second and last phase of Gujarat elections saw polling in northern, central and tribal areas. The results of both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections will be declared on Monday.

As reported by the media sources, three exits polls on Thursday showed the BJP was headed for a win in Gujarat after the two-phase assembly elections concluded in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state. Earlier it was predicted by the political experts that the Indian National Congress (INC) could give the BJP, which has been in power in the state for 22 years, a fight this time around.

The exit poll predicted by different media outlets and other agencies are as follows.

The ABP exit poll figure for the first phase of Gujarat elections (Saurashtra and South Gujarat) with 89 seats: BJP: (34+24) 58 seats; Congress: (19+11) 30 seats.

India Today Axis poll vote share projections for Gujarat: BJP: 47%, Congress: 42%, Others: 11%.

The ABP exit poll figure for the first phase of Gujarat elections (Saurashtra and South Gujarat) with 89 seats: BJP: (34+24) 58 seats; Congress: (19+11) 30 seats.

CSDS survey for South Gujarat projections: BJP: 21-27; Congress: 9-13, Others: 01.
