Jalandhar: Sikh groups on Sunday reportedly handed over memorandums to three Congress MLAs in Jalandhar and demanded that former Punjab police chief Sumedh Saini and other cops identified by Justice (Retd.) Ranjit Singh Commission should also be named in the FIRs regarding firing at Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura.
Four police personnel including Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma, have already been named in the FIR for Behbal Kalan police firing in which two Sikhs namely Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Gurjeet Singh were killed in October 2015.
According to the Times of India (ToI), three MLAs to whom the memorandums were given by Sikh groups led by Sikhs For Equality and Sikh Talmel Committee were Rajinder Beri, Sushil Rinku and Surinder Singh Chaudhary.
“The activists asked the MLAs to take up the issue with CM Amarinder Singh and ask him that he should implement his pre poll promises about delivering justice in both incidents related to police firing.
