Nankana Sahib, Pakistan (February 21, 2013): As per information the martyrdom Day of Shaheeds of Saka Nankana Sahib is being observed is being observed at Nanakana Sahib in Pakistan from from February 19 to 21, 2013.
It is further learnt that the Shaheedi day is being observed as per the original Nanakshahi Calendar that was adopted by the Sikh Panth in 2003.
As per media reports the American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (ASGPC) is participating in the program being organized by Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC).
AGPC Coordinator Dr. Pritpal Singh reportedly told ANI (news agency) that the PSGPC has made elaborate arrangements for the ceremony as the Akhand Path has begun.
“He said that the bhog of the Akhand Path will be held on February 21. He said on this occasion the whole panth and they in particular will take a pledge to preserve the sanctity of the religious places of the community and to protect the maryada of Gurdwaras” an ANI report reads further.
