Ludhiana/Punjab (September 24, 2012): According to information Punjab police has implicated Bhai Daljit Singh and Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind under Explosives Act, 1884 without any recovery.

“It’s strange that the police has registered the F.I.R. against ADPP leaders under Explosives Act but at the same time police has failed to show any recovery of explosives” informed Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Senior Vice President of ADPP who had appeared in Ludhiana court as counsel of Bhai Daljit Singh.

According to a news report by “Times of India” (TOI) “After failing to recover any fresh explosives, Jalandhar (rural) police has now linked SGPC member and SAD (Panch Pardhani) president Kulbir Singh Barapind to a four-month-old RDX case at Nawashahr police station”.

“At a press conference on Sunday [September 23, 2012] Jalandhar range DIG Lok Nath Angra said Barapind had links with Sandeep Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, who were arrested by Nawashahr police with 2.7kg RDX in May” reports TOI.

Panch Pardhani leaders told Sikh Siyasat that Punjab police is implicating their leaders in false cases due to political reasons.

Another counsel of Bhai Daljit Singh & Bhai Kulbir Singh Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat that in 2009 the police had filed a case for similar accusations against Bhai Daljit Singh and other Panch Pardhani leader but the police has failed to produce any evidence to support it’s accusation in the trial court till date.

He further told that Police was misusing Unlawful Activities (Preventions) Act against Sikh leaders just like TADA.

“UAPA is nothing more than a notorious replacement of widely misused law TADA” he added.
