Dal Khalsa, a pro-freedom Sikh activist group, organized a seminar at Bhai Gurdas Hall, Sri Amritsar on April 29, 2025, to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the historic declaration made by the Panthic Committee, appointed by the Sarbat Khalsa of 1986, on April 29, 1986. The event was attended by various Panthic leaders, Sikh scholars, and prominent members of the community.
On this occasion, Panth Sewak Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu delivered a powerful and insightful speech highlighting the significance of the 1986 declaration. He elaborated on the foundations of the Khalsa’s claim to sovereignty (Patshahi Dawa), and reflected on core Sikh principles such as Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all), Beghampura, Halemi Raj (a just and humble rule), and Khalsa Ji ke Bol-Baley (the triumph of the Khalsa spirit).
Bhai Daljit Singh also addressed the rapidly changing global landscape, the growing instability in the international order, escalating regional tensions—especially the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan in South Asia after Pehalgam incident of 22 April 2025, which was followed by India holding Indus Water Treaty 1960 in abeyance—and the current status of Sikhs in Punjab, across India, and in the diaspora. He emphasized both the challenges and the opportunities facing the Sikh community today.
This is a must-watch speech for anyone interested in understanding the Sikh situation and its connection to evolving international and regional dynamics.
