Panch Pardhani support APSCC over reinvestigation of Chittisinghpura Sikh Massacre

Fatehgarh Sahib (April 06, 2011): Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) has extended its support to All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), which has demanded full scale reinvestigation into Chittisinghpura massacre. In year 2000, 36 Sikhs were massacred by persons dressed as Indian Army soldiers on 20 March, when the then US President, Bill Clinton was visiting India. Indian Army and Government claimed at that time that it was handiwork of alien Militants. Few days later armed forces of India gunned down some persons claiming them to be responsible for the massacre. But later it was discovered that all those gunned down by the army were local Kashmiri youth and none of them was ‘alien militant’ as was claimed by the army. Till date the mystery regarding the killers continue.

Many organizations, including human rights organizations, claim that the massacre was perpetuated and carried by the Indian Army.

“We take the massacre as a part of genocidal attacks faced by the Sikhs in India since 1980s” said Panch Pardhani General Secretary Harpal Singh Cheema, while upon organizations like Sikhs for Justice, American Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Sikh Federation Germany and Sikh Federation Australia to take up the issue of “denial of justice” to the victims of Chittisinghpura Massacre.

“Indian Government is hiding the truth for so many years in order to save its’ killer forces, who killed innocent Sikhs to serve ulterior political ends of India” he added.
