Crimes against Humanity: What applies to Sri Lanka, applies to India: Dal Khalsa to UN

New Delhi, India: Alleging that New Delhi has failed to provide a resolution to the political conflict in various regions of the Indian subcontinent, the Dal Khalsa has emphasized that the right to self-determination is the only solution to ensure that carnage’s like November 1984 do not recur.
Making a joint appeal to the United Nations, the Dal Khalsa along with pro-freedom groups of Kashmir, Nagaland and Tamil Nadu vent anger against the Indian state and sought a peaceful resolution of the conflicts that give rise to genocidal pogroms against the Sikhs, like the one in Delhi in November 1984, the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat in the year 2002, the attacks on churches and killings of Christians in Orissa in 2008 and the killings of protesting Kashmiri youth every then and now.
The representation to the UN Secretary General submitted at the offices of the UN Information Centre clearly demands, “What the UN did in Sri Lanka in indicting the Sinhalese armed forces and the political establishment for committing gross human right abuses, it needs to do for the mass murders of Sikhs in November 1984.”

The memorandum sought a probe into the role of all arms of the Indian state in the killings of November 1984 as various arms of the state conspired and carried out the carnage against the Sikhs in Delhi and elsewhere.
The memorandum addressed to Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was signed by Kanwar Pal Singh (Punjab), Prof SAR Geelani (Jammu & Kashmir), Harpal Singh Cheema (Punjab), Dr N Venu (Nagaland) and Mr Seeman (Tamil Nadu) was submitted to principal information officer at UN headquarters, Delhi.
While talking with the media, party head H S Dhami said the copy of the memorandum has also been sent to permanent member of UN Security Council with a hope that they would help the Sikhs in achieving justice and their rights.
The memorandum further said the present incumbents to power in the country are clearly determined to create a Hindu state and they are entitled to their wishes and dreams. Similarly, we too are entitled to our regional, religious and nationalist aspirations by virtue of our birth, history and legacy and as per the UN charter it is bounding duty of United Nations to ensure that this right is not snatched away by the state.
Seeking regular and systematic UN intervention, the memo reads that we were living in dangerous times and we fear more threats as time passes by.
