The World Sikh Organization of Canada has welcomed a joint intervention by five UN Special Rapporteurs urging Canada to strengthen protections for Sikh activist Moninder Singh Bual, accelerate investigations into credible threats against him, and address India's alleged campaign of transnational repression targeting Sikh activists.
UN experts' communication explicitly places threats to Sikh activists in Canada within a broader pattern of India’s transnational repression targeting Sikh dissidents across the diaspora and was shared with the Government of India as well.
