Chandigarh/Punjab (November 21, 2012): According to media reprots eight survivors of the Hondh Chillar massacre deposed before the Justice T. P. Garg Commission at Hisar on November 20, 2012.
According to ‘The Tribune’: “The commission is probing the genocide of 32 Sikhs at Hondh Chillar in Rewari district Reports received here said Justice Garg ordered that the properties of Sikhs, which had been bought by other villagers, would not be tampered with to protect evidence”.
Justice Garg’s order came on an application filed by Nathu Ram, a resident of Hondh Chillar, who had bought a ‘haveli’ belonging to the Sikh community after the Hondh Massacre of 1984. He wanted to renovate the ‘haveli’ after demolishing its walls.
