Heavy lathi-charge by police at Bapu Surat Singh’s house

Hassanpur/ Ludhiana: Recent reports from Bapu Surat Singh’s house reveals that the police resorted to heavy lathi-charge inside Bapu Surat Singh’s house and arrested all members of Sikh Sangat and Sikh activists who were present there at that time. However, Bapu Surat Singh and his family members were not arrested by the police (Please check updated link at the bottom of this news).
Admins of Bapu Surat Singh’s Facebook page have posted a video which shows senior police and civil officials, including SSP Ravcharan Singh Brar, saying that their senior officers were misinformed by CID (intelligence).
Bapu Surat Singh’s son Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner (DC) and SSP were sitting with them inside Bapu Surat Singh’s room when the police jumped into their house.

“DC and SSP had come to meet Bapu Ji and we were sitting inside Bapu Ji’s room when we hear laud noise from outside. Singhs told us that the police has jumped in to the house form the walls. We locked the door to prevent police from entering inside our rooms” he said.
“Police resorted to heavy lathi-charge and smashed phones and camera of the Sikh sangat”, he said adding that: the police also beat up some media persons who were talking to the Sikh sangat.
He said that the police pushed the arrested persons into two buses and took them away.

Bhai Ravinderjeet Singh Gogi told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that Bapu Surat Singh and his family members (Ravinderjeet Singh Gogi himself and his sister Bibi Sarvinder Kaur, besides two-three other persons) who had locked themselves inside rooms were not arrested by the police.
