Dr. Sewak Singh argued that the primary objective of the film and entertainment industry is to generate profit by entertaining audiences. As such, it cannot be considered a genuine platform for the propagation of religious teachings or the accurate representation of history.
His comments are particularly relevant in light of recent protests by certain Sikh groups against the release of the film Akaal, starring Gippy Grewal and Gurpreet Ghuggi, which coincidentally premiered on April 10 as well.
