On February 13, he was again presented before the court after expiry of the remand period. Jagtar Singh Tara’s counsels Harpal Singh Khara and Harinder Singh Akalia argued that the extension would be of no use as the police had failed to secure anything incriminating against their client in the past four days.

Notably the police also presented Amarjeet Singh of Ropar, who was arrested by the Bathinda police for allegedly plotting a conspiracy in connivance with Jagtar Singh Tara.

The police had also arrested Ramandeep Singh Sunny Khalsa of Bathinda who allegedly met Jagtar Singh Tara in Thailand. The police alleged that Amarjeet Singh had deposited money in Ramandeep Singh Sunny’s account, and that they wanted to know what was conspiring between the trio.

Baba Hardeep Singh Former vice-president of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, SAD (Amritsar) district president Parminder Singh Balianwali along with other local Sikhs staged protest and riased slogans in Jagtar Singh Tara favour.
